Have a Theme

Choose a fun theme for breakfast in bed this year. Go tropical and provide mom with fresh pineapple, papayas and mangoes, a nice refreshing drink and mango bread or Hawaiian sweet bread or look for some other Hawaiian breakfast recipes. Set the tone by playing some soothing Hawaiian music softly in the background. Don’t forget the umbrella in the drink!

Another fun theme is Mexican. Make mom some yummy breakfast burritos, bunuelos (similar to doughnuts) and some juice.

Go For Favorites

This year for breakfast in bed make mom all of her favorites, even if they aren’t breakfast foods. She will enjoy getting to have all of her favorites at once and will know that you were thinking especially of her. Don’t forget to add a few of her favorite flowers on the breakfast in bed tray.

Breakfast and a Movie

Has mom been dying to see a new movie but just hasn’t had the time? Pamper her with breakfast in bed and a movie. Provide her with a few munchies and make sure she gets to see it all without interruptions.

A Breakfast filled with Promise

Bring mom breakfast in courses. Start with a hot chocolate, tea or coffee and some fruit. Then the main dish and finally a sweet dish like a doughnut or pastry. With each course give mom a gift. If mom has wanted to get her hair cut and go to the spa get her a certificate for those items. If mom needs some new clothes give her a gift certificate and homemade coupon for the time to go and get new clothes.

Breakfast in Bed Picnic

Do the kids want to be with mom while she has her breakfast in bed? Make them plates too and spread a picnic tablecloth on the ground in the bedroom. Now they can be with mom and you can avoid a big mess in the bed.
