Clown Face Chocolate Cupcake – Recipe & Decorating Idea

Making clown face cupcakes was never this easy. These candy clowns are sure to please the little clowns attending your party.

Clown Face Chocolate CupcakeIngredients:

For the Chocolate Cupcakes

  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. chocolate essence
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

For Decorating

  • Whipped Cream
  • sweetened Pink Food Color
  • M&M candies
  • Chocolate Sprinkles

Makes: 16 cupcakes

Directions:

1. Combine together and beat butter, sugar and essence until creamy and then beat in the egg.

2. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt and stir into the butter mixture.

3. Spoon by rounded tablespoon (one to a cup) into paper lined 2 inch cupcake cups.

4. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.

5. When completely cooled, frost the cupcake with whipped cream.

6. Make clown eyes with 2 blue M&M candies and nose with a halved purple candy

7. Use a plain round writing tip to pipe out the mouth of the clown with pink or red color.

8. For the clown’s hair, use chocolate sprinkles all over the forehead area above the eyes.
