Adventure Sports

The king of outdoor, adventure sports is undoubtedly Switzerland. It doesn’t matter if you’re an extreme sports veteran or someone who just wants to try something different, Switzerland is the place to be.

You can find everything you want, like paragliding, skydiving, rafting, skiing and much more. There are even a few “invented” sports and activities, like mixing hiking and swimming as you walk among the mountains and glaciers.

Interlaken is the top place for tourists and locals alike, who can find plenty to do in either the summer or winter months. It’s just up to you for when you want to go. Summer is, however, typically more popular so you’ll want to make sure you’re planning everything out way in advance.

Hiking

Nothing beats a little walk in the woods, right? You don’t even have to be an adventure junkie to love hiking. Sometimes an hour in nature is all you need to clear your head.

When it comes to hiking trails, Norway is always a country that is mentioned near the top. You can walk and see the fjords from incredible angles. Many of those hikes, however, are reserved for experts so be sure that you’ve already done a bit of training and are ready for the adventure.

You can also head out east to China, which has some of the world’s more interesting hiking trails. One of the more memorable trails in the country is Zhangjiajie, which looks like something out of the movie Avatar. It’s usually rated as being one of the more difficult trails as well.

Fishing

Yes, even though fishing involves long moments of silence, it can still be an adventure vacation. You’re just going to have head out on a boat!

Deep sea fishing is an exciting activity that can have you doing battle against some of the sea’s great beasts. Depending on where you are in the world, you may be trying to catch a shark or even a swordfish. Don’t fret if you can’t bring your own fishing equipment though.

Some of the best fishing in the world can be found along the Gulf of Alaska. While you may not want to go the full luxury route, shelling out your hard-earned money on a private fishing lodge, there are still plenty of companies that will take you out on the water for a few days. There are other options if you dont want a chartered trip. You can head to the banks with your gear and do some fishing alone.

You can head to Scandinavia, where Finland, Sweden and Norway often rank among the best fishing spots. It’s best to head to these places during the summer months and not just because of the cold weather. You’re more likely to catch a number of different fish during your time out on the high seas.
