Hang Your Photos Using These Fun Ideas

Even though the digital age has given us the ability to store hundreds of photos on our computers, it’s still nice to own some in print. Printing our favourite photos and displaying them around our homes is something that we have been doing since the invention of photography. It would seem a shame to stop now and only look at our photos on a screen. But that doesn’t mean we have to stick to the tried and tested method of displaying our photos. Printing them and putting them in a wooden frame, to either hang on the way or stand on a table, isn’t the only way to show off your photos. There are lots of unique and interesting frames that you can incorporate into the rest of your interior design.

Hang Your Photos Using These Fun Ideas

Multi-Photo Frames

One of the best ways to display a lot of photos at once is to use a multi-photo, or multi-aperture, frame. With one of these frames, you can create an art gallery out of one of your walls, using a number of your photos or other pieces of art. They don’t have to be square or rectangular – you can buy them in any number of shapes. You might choose to use a frame with a number of rectangular frames forming a shape with uneven edges, or even a circle. Instead of using one frame, you can also buy lots of different frames and hang them together, either matching or not.

Acrylic Frames and Blocks

You can use clear acrylic frames to great effect. These blocks hold together with magnets, so there’s no visible frame. Use an a5 photo frame with a smaller image and it creates an amazing 3D effect. The photo looks like it’s floating inside the frame. Use a larger block and photo to make it look even better. If you want to have some fun with an acrylic block, put a picture of a fish inside and marvel at how it looks like it’s swimming around.

Digital Frames

Digital frames combine the modern technology of digital photographs with an old-fashioned way of displaying them. You can have the frame cycle through your pictures, so there’s no need to stick to displaying just one. Digital frames are perfect if you don’t have much room to stand or hang photos. However, it can be harder to incorporate them into your interior design as the image doesn’t stay the same.

Don’t Be a Square

An easy way to change the pace of your photo hanging is to stop using rectangular and square apertures. Frame your photos inside circles, ovals, hearts and diamonds. Change up the shape of the frame itself too. Rectangles are good for nice, neat lines, but you should avoid them if you don’t want everything at right angles.

Think about the size and colour of your frames, as well as the shape. They should blend with both your decor and the photos they’re framing.
