No matter what the occasion, celebrities know how to celebrate, but when it comes to weddings, they really go all out. They can let their creative juices flow, with their big bank accounts and a team of assistants to help. Sometimes, the news of these over the top wedding celebrations outlast the marriages themselves (although some celebrity couples have set excellent examples of marriage), but they make for excellent inspiration for those planning their own wedding.

So, here are some over-the-top celebrity theme weddings of recent times to inspire you and spark your imagination.

Toni Braxton simple loves all things Tiffany & Co., so it was natural for her to have her wedding theme follow suit. In her 1998 wedding to Atlanta musician, Keri Jamal Lewis, she bathed the décor in Tiffany’s signature baby blue hues. The wedding cake was a four-tiered stack of elegant Tiffany boxes in pastel blue. They dyed the tablecloths, carpeting, chair covers and other décor Tiffany blue.

Although they divorced in 2012, Heidi Klum and Seal kept a Groundhog Day-type tradition of renewing their wedding vows seven times, on each wedding anniversary getting wilder, including a brides and grooms theme where guests came dressed up as wedding couples and an ornate masquerade ball. But the crème de la crème was the 2009 “trailer trash” theme, complete with an Elvis lookalike officiating, Heidi in cornrows puffing on a cigarette, and Seal sporting a mullet wig. Rightly so, this offended many hardworking Americans who live in trailer parks.

Some people believe the apple signifies marriage and fertility.
