It’s that time of the year again! You must be busy finishing up your back-to-school checklist and getting things in order for a safe and successful term. But things are very different for about 31 million girls around the world. School is still a distant dream for them. Growing up in countries as blessed as ours, we seldom think that something as basic as education could be so elusive. But there are girl children all over the globe who have to constantly confront a number of barriers to education.

With their #hungrytolearn program, CARE is working hard to remove these barriers and make school and education a reality to every girl in the world and empowering girl child. From poverty and gender discrimination to physical barriers and early marriage, these hungry-to-learn kids are deprived of their chance to a brighter future.
