5 Mysterious Deaths of the Rich and Famous

Celebrities appear to be victims to unrestricted access to their private lives, being constantly watched and documented by the media. In some cases, their fame has proved to be insufficient in finding out the true causes of their death. Of course, cases such as homicide often go unsolved for decades, or not at all, but you would expect this to be much easier when the victim is famous. However, some cases can remain open for years and people are still trying to piece together exactly what happened.

5 Mysterious Deaths of the Rich and Famous

After all, who wouldn’t want to know the events behind Marilyn Monroe’s death or the truth when it comes to whether Tupac is alive? Will we ever find the answers to such tragic events? One can only hope so. As of now, here are five strange celebrity deaths that still remain unsolved or at least for now remain a mystery to the public.

Tupac Shakur

On September 7th, 1996, hip-hop legend and rapper Tupac was shot in Las Vegas five times by an unknown man, who has never been caught. He then died from his injuries six days later. But more than two decades since his death numerous conspiracy theories say he’s still alive and has been spotted on many occasions. What was most unusual was that there was no funeral, just cremation. His funeral was suddenly cancelled for no reason at all and then he was allegedly cremated the day after he died.

Marilyn Monroe

Shortly before Marilyn Monroe’s death in August 1962, she made her final public appearance singing Happy Birthday to President John F Kennedy, and it was rumoured the two were having an affair. Her death was said to be “probable suicide” from barbiturate poisoning, although various theories say she was murdered by the Mafia, CIA or the Kennedy’s themselves in a bid to keep her quiet.

The time of her death wasn’t reported by her doctor until eight hours after she’d died and was said to be caused by her taking 47 Nembutal capsules, but no traces of drugs were found in her stomach, nor was there any evidence for her having taken the tablet orally. It was later claimed her body looked as if it has posed on the bed with her legs stretched out perfectly, unlike the body of most victims who’d overdosed on sleeping tablets. Key forensics also went missing shortly after she died – no wonder this is a mystery to so many of us.

Kurt Cobain

In April 1994, Kurt Cobain’s body was discovered in a room above his garage, after shooting himself in the head. But it has since been suggested that he didn’t take own life and was murdered. According to investigation records, there were no usable fingerprints on the shotgun or on the shells that had been loaded in it.

Given that he was found not wearing gloves with the gun on his chest and hand clasped around it, there should have been several prints. It has also been argued that the amount of heroin and valium found in his system would have made him unable to pull the trigger, leading many to think he had been intentionally drugged and killed.

Natalie Wood

Known for her roles in Miracle on 34th Street and Rebel Without a Cause, Natalie Wood was considered a successful Hollywood actress. Whilst on a break from filming her last ever movie, Brainstorm, she drowned on a boating trip. Details surrounding her drowning have been called mysterious as nor her husband, Richard Wagner or the Capitan saw her fall into the water. Robert claimed they had a fight and she went to bed and her body was found less than a mile from the boat covered in bruises and scratches. Examiners have changed her cause of death from accidental to “drowning and other undetermined factors”. Many people have speculated that her husband played a role in her death.

Bobbi Kristina Brown

The daughter of Whitney Houston, Bobbi died July 26, 2015, found unconscious in her home aged 22, face down and unresponsive in her bathtub. More than a year later, her autopsy results revealed she died from a combination of drugs and immersion in water. But the medical examiner was unable to say whether her death was intentional or an accident so was ruled as undetermined. Suspicions have been cast over the years on her boyfriend, but no one has been charged in connection with her death.
