'My Woman Idol' contest marks First Anniversary of Dot Com Women

March 8th, International Women's Day this year saw the successful completion of the first year of leading Women's portal - Dot Com Women (http://www.dotcomwomen.com). To mark the occasion, Dot Com Women has launched the 'My Woman Idol' contest for men and women all over the world.

The contest is receiving an overwhelming response right from the first day. Entries are coming in from men and women all over the world dedicating their respects to Women from all walks of life. On one hand, dedications to Mothers and Wives make you bow down to the Ladies of the Household and on the other hand, Martha Stewart, Oprah Winfrey, Hilary Clinton and even Dot Com Women founder Lata Budhrani seem to be popular favorites.

Contestants are also required to mention 'why' they chose the particular woman as their idol. As Lata Budhrani, Founder of Dot Com Women puts in, "Everyone, man or woman, has a woman in their lives who has inspired them, taught them the most important lessons in life, has been their biggest mentor, supporter or has changed or bettered their life in any way. It may be a family member, a friend, a celebrity, a political or world figure or any woman who you look up to with love and respect."

The contest is open upto 31st March, 2004 and the list of prizes and information on entering the contests may be had at http://www.dotcomwomen.com/contests.shtml. A be-fitting tribute to the women of the world has thus, marked the anniversary of a successful online community of women.
