Buying a Monitor for Your Baby

Here's what you need to look for, when considering buying a baby monitor:

a) Does it have 2 or more channels? (This is helpful when static inexplicably clouds the channel you're using)

b) Does it operate from both a plug and a battery? (You'll want to hear the baby, even if you lose power or are traveling.)

c) Do you want multiple receivers (one for your room, one for the yard?)

d) Do you want a model with a nightlight (so you can peek in without disturbing?)

e) Can you adjust the volume? Some people opt for a TV monitor, so that they can keep an eye on the sleeping baby. Assuming there are no medical issues, an audio monitor is much cheaper, and probably will serve the needs of most parents.
