Unattached? Don’t Sulk! Go Out on Valentine’s Day and Celebrate Being Single!

Valentine’s Day can send many hearts a-fluttering at just the thought of spending time with their special someone. But Valentine’s Day isn’t just for those couples that are in love. This is a day to show everyone how much you care and that includes friends and family. There’s no reason to sulk just because you’re unattached this Valentine’s Day. There’s plenty to do that can make you feel great and make you happy that you had this chance to make time and do something that you love!

One of the greatest things you can do when you’re by yourself on Valentine’s Day is to go shopping. For many women, there are few things that you can do to cheer yourself up than pick out a brand new outfit (or two, or three.) You will look great and feel great knowing that you got exactly what you wanted for Valentine’s Day!

It can be a great thing to be single. Dating and meeting new people can be a lot of fun so call up some single girlfriends and head towards the closest hot spot. You don’t have to go with the intention of meeting someone but spending time with your friends laughing about past flames, or just talking about how happy you are not to be committed (because really, there’s nothing like a first kiss!) can make you realize that being single isn’t a bad thing. And who knows? Going out somewhere with a bunch of friends may just be the way to meet that perfect someone if you are looking for someone.

You can’t get much better than being pampered on Valentine’s Day. Treat yourself to a day at the spa and get a massage, a facial, manicure, or pedicure. If you don’t want to go all out, or you only have an hour or two, go to a salon and get your hair done. This is a great way to be pampered as well. You will come out of Valentine’s Day feeling fresh and relaxed and not just happy that it’s over, like all those stressed out couples will be!

Another great activity on Valentine’s Day is just doing something that you like to do. This sounds simple enough but it can be hard to remember when you’re at home moping because you don’t have anyone to share Valentine’s with. Go to a museum, a movie, or the opera. It doesn’t really matter what it is, as long as it’s something that you love to do.

You can also find an activity that you’ve never done before but have always wanted to do. Look online or through community papers for events that are happening in your area or just find businesses that offer the activity that you want. For example, if you’ve always wanted to tap dance but have never had the nerve or the time, now is the time! Call up the school and enrol or even better, see if they have a class scheduled for that night. You can start that night or ask if you can go and observe for the night to see if it’s really something you want to do.
