Simple Ways to Feel Happier as a Woman

Is there someone you know who always seems happy and confident? Most of us know at least one person who is the epitome of cool. They dress well, walk tall and everything in their life seems to have fallen into place. This person you would love to be about probably hasn’t had the perfect life; they’ve had struggles and had to work for what they now own, even if you don’t believe this to be true you can bet it is. That’s because no one has the perfect existence, some people just know how to make the best of things and this comes down to self-belief, positive thinking and confidence.

Simple Ways to Feel Happier as a Woman

If you’re not one of the confident people in life there is a way to change things around. It’s all about the way you think. If you think the world is mean and cruel and that it’s got something against you it’s going to be very difficult to have an easy life, because you’re making it tough. While it’s true that life can be very cruel that doesn’t mean you have to accept it. It’s down to you to fight the trend and discover the beauty in life, because believe it or not that beauty is all around us, and you’re beautiful too.

Starting with Your Confidence

The first place to start is by building your own self confidence. The best way to do this is to stop being what you’re not and start being who you really are. Society tries to put us into boxes and if you don’t fit into the expected box that can leave you feeling unworthy, or like there is something wrong with you. So first things first understand that you don’t have to fit into any box, you are who you are not what people want you to be. If you’re struggling with confidence use these tips to help you:

  • Accept that you are amazing. You are unique, there’s no one else like you and that’s what makes you such a wonderful person. You must learn to express yourself better, if you don’t you’re doing yourself and the world a huge injustice. Spend time doing more of the things you love without thinking what anyone else may think. If you’re 19 and you want to knit just go ahead and do it. If you’re 45 and you love playing the Xbox just get on and do it and let the world know.
  • Learn to love yourself. Yes, this may sound a bit stupid and soppy but it’s so important. Write down everything you love about you in a book, no one needs to see it. Carry your love list with you in your bag so you can add to it whenever inspiration hits you.
  • Pick a role model and let them help you when life gets tough. Think what they would do or think in any situations that leave you wanting to hide in the corner. It could be anyone you like, a friend, someone in your family or a movie star. Some great people to use as your role models include Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Michelle Obama or even Goldie Hawn!

Use Clothes and Accessories

It’s amazing how clothes can have a direct impact on emotions. When you feel sad throwing on your favourite jumper can immediately sooth you. If you don’t want to do anything but hide at home all day we choose yoga pants and slippers because they express the way you’re feeling. If you have a meeting with the boss you dress in your best work outfit because it helps to empower you.

Each day you need to be wearing the clothes and accessories that make you feel good. Even if you don’t feel happy wearing bright colours and your favourite heels can give you a bit of a mental boost. So from now on make sure you have a wardrobe that excludes self-confident and positivity.  Save up and treat yourself to a new watch or bracelet from like the ones at John Lewis and wear it every day. One special thing you love that’s always with you as a reminder that you deserve to be treated like a queen.

Walk Tall

Finally pay attention to the way you use your body language and your posture. Think about the way you walk, are you slumped or is your back straight and your head high? Aim to always walk out the house with a nice strong straight back, ensure your shoulders are dropped and stop looking at the floor! The way you hold yourself has more of an impact on your confidence and mood than you think.
