How to make your marriage work?

Marriages are made in heaven, but the irony is that you have to live it in earth. It is the earth of all problems, conflicts, and misunderstandings. Yet there are marriages that work successfully. However, the number of relationships that are on the rocks is on the rise, and most couples now seek the help of a third party, counselors, lawyers, etc., to improve their marital relationship.

There are many aspects- physical, emotional, social, and psychological- that decide the success and failure of a relationship. These aspects vary in each individual, and differ in same individual in different circumstances. To get a partner, who is compatible with you in all aspects, is very difficult. The best way to make your relationship work is to understand these different aspects of your mate and adjust accordingly.

Here are a few tips that will help you protect your relationship from the possible risks. If you feel your relationship is on the rocks, these tips may help to improve it.

Respect your partner’s feelings. The psychology of a male is totally different from that of a female. If your husband looks moody, whatever reasons it may be, don’t be so inquisitive to know the whereabouts of the source of the problem. Rather you may give him some relief by offering your support and changing his mood by offering him a good meal or arranging a funny activity.

If you feel that your partner is trying to avoid you, get a serious grab of the situation. Don’t start showering him with abuses. As said earlier, it may be a different aspect of the male behavior that you could not understand. He may not have had any intention of ignoring you. In that case, your shouting at him will aggravate the situation. However, if you are sure that things are going in a wrong direction, keep yourself calm. Try to get closer to him, expecting a change in him.  Approach a counselor individually and try to get rid of the problems yourself.

Spend more time with him than before, especially when you sense that he is moving on the wrong track. Don’t give him a chance to think about a second person in his life. Pour him with maximum love that you are capable of. Have a patient mind to forgive him for whatever he did, like a mother to her child.

Go to your bed after settling the issues if possible. Even if you are angry with him for whatever he did, do not show it in bed. Take a firm decision that you will never sleep separately, whatever the situation is. Even the toughest heart can be melt by a soothing touch by a lady, especially a loving partner.

Always talk about positive things in life. You see a lot of couple having fun throughout their life. This does not mean that they are free from all problems. They too have difficulties, but they do not talk about them often. Never talk to others about the conflicts in your relationship. Talking positive to yourself and others can do wonders in relationships.

A regular self-analysis will help improve relationships to a great extent. Try to change yourself, if needed, rather than expecting a change from your partner.
