> Dear Francis
I married my husband for money and now he wants to have kids.
Problem: My French husband and I have a
seemingly perfect marriage. He whisked me off to Monaco last year
where we live in a beautiful house overlooking The Mediterranean.
We have lots of friends, I spend most of the day on a private
beach and he recently bought me a new sports car.
The only problem is that he desperately wants
to have several children and I don’t want any - as I only really
married him for his money in the first place. What should I do?
Have his children or tell him the truth which would mean the end
of our marriage and me having to go back to being a waitress in
Las Vegas?
Francis' Solution: However dreamy your marriage in Monaco
sounds, it is nothing more than a ‘marriage made in tax-haven’
than ‘heaven’. You have to ask yourself how long you can deny him
children AND deny the fact that your marriage is a sham – albeit
in nice surroundings! Unless he is actually physically blinded by
his love for you he will eventually realise that you only married
him for his money. Your reluctance to give him children will only
accelerate this and your return to serving coffee in Las Vegas.
Francis Deacon.
