Here's how you make these Fabric covered, ball finials

Fabric covered ball FinialsFinials can be partially or totally covered to match or accent other fabrics in the room. Handsome with fabric covered rods, they may be used with painted ones as well.

Cut Fabric circlesCut three fabric circles. 9" for 1 3/8" pole, 12" for 2" pole. Wrap one over ball of finial; secure with a rubber band. Put right sides of remaining two together. Sew along edge leaving a gap of about 2". Turn right side out, press and finish hem.

Make the FinialFold to find center. Cut small hole and fit over screw end of finial. Pull up toward ball, gather and secure with rubber band. Trim.

Cover with fabricIf desired, ball end of finial may be painted instead of fabric covered.
