Three Fabulous Wedding Themes
Every wedding is memorable for the bride and groom; some are
unforgettable for the guests, as well. We may assume that most
little girls have a dream wedding in mind but they're not all white
lace and orange blossoms. This writer, for instance, got married at
midnight, wearing just a smile, under a tree. Whether you're
starting to plan your own or simply enjoy reading about other
people's ceremonies, you are sure to enjoy these three fabulous
weddings:
Barefoot on the Beach
While this setting won't work for everyone, it was perfect for two
wave-riders who met while surfing in La Jolla. The bride wore an
ankle-length, pale peach gauze skirt and bikini top over her suntan
while her groom wore a pair of brand-new Hawaiian print baggies.
Their friends spent hours stringing leis for the happy couple--
plumerias for her, maile leaves for him. They timed it just right
so their "I do"s happened just as the sun was setting behind the
Cove.
Horseback in the Desert
For two people that enjoy the Mojave, planning their ceremony
around a desert sunrise was perfect. They opted for a small service
with a tiny guest list, so there weren't a lot of people to gather
pre-dawn. The happy couple and their minister were on three
palomino horses. There was a circle of luminarias and everyone wore
southwest-style gear. Hawks provided the music.
Underwater
The trickiest part of planning this wedding was finding the bride a
white wetsuit. Some guests snorkeled above the ceremony while their
non-diving friends enjoyed the wedding from a small glass-bottom
boat.
The most important part of any wedding in the deliriously in-love
couple. No matter when or where, their union will be memorable and
hopefully last forever.
