The 10 Best Attractions in Bangkok

Bangkok is a lovely city brimming with attractions and although it is difficult to list only a few, there are definitely some which can simply not be missed if one is to take in the real culture and feel of the place. Most of them will seem to be temples and make it feel like an overdose of culture, but take our advice and go see them. They are not world famous for nothing. You will not have imagined what a grand temple can be like once you visit them.

1. Grand Palace

On the Rattanakosin island, this is the grandest and the most famous Buddha temple and is the musts of must-see if in Bangkok.

2. Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaeo)

Located inside the grounds of the Grand Palace, this can be visited the same time when visiting the Grand Palace.

3. Reclining Buddha Temple (Wat Pho)

On Rattanakosin island, this is the only temple with a reclining Buddha statue.

4. Temple of the Dawn (Wat Arun)

This beautiful temple is across the river from the other 3 temples and is often missed by many tourists but according to the claims of many visitors, is more beautiful than the other three.

6. Chao Phraya River Cruise

The Chao Praya river runs through Bangkok and it is on its sides that the lovely temples and museums are situated. The cruise is a wonderful way to see all the temples and the beautiful city of Bangkok.

7. The National Museum Bangkok

Fascinating stuff from the royal history of Thailand awaits you at this museum and you will leave with images that will stay in your mind for long.

8. Royal Barges National Museum

Seeing the traditional barges (gigantic, decorated boats) is an experience not to be missed. The barges are taken to water only once every year for traditional races but may be seen all the year round in this museum.

9. Flower Markets

Pictures of floating markets grace the front pages of magazines devoted to Thailand travel and not without a reason. Take a trip to one yourself and you will know why. There are to be found some floating markets with the city but if you have time, the Damoen Saduak Floating Market is the loveliest of them all.

10. Golden Mount

In Chinatown, this sacred place houses the relics of Buddha and is a must-see.
