How to Iron Slacks/Trousers
Clothes Ironing Tutorial

The trick to ironing slacks is in the folds. To get prefect front creases, begin by holding the slacks by the hems.

1. Hold the slacks up by the hems with the inner and outer pant seams matched up.

2. Place the slacks on the ironing board.

3. Fold the upper leg out of the way and smooth the bottom by hand. Iron the lower leg portion, making sure to keep the pant seams lined up.

4. Fold the top leg on itself to reveal the upper portion of the leg you have ironed, continue to iron up to the crotch.

5. Flip the slacks over and repeat.

6. Inspect the outer leg and touch up any areas that are not flat.

7. Unfold the pants and slide the waistband over the triangular end of the board.  Rotate the slacks as you iron each section.

8. For front pleats, hold down the folds with your fingers with some tension as you iron them.

9. If the inside pockets are very wrinkled, be sure to iron these to, so that there will be no bunching when the slacks are worn.
