Lace Easter Egg Wreath – Easter Decorating Project

This pretty wreath celebrates the purity of Easter white and the pastels of spring in your home. Cotton eyelet lace and pastel colored embellishments give this wreath a dainty, romantic country look.

Materials:

  • 12″ straw, plastic or Foam Wreath
  • 2 yards cotton eyelet lace, 3-1/2 inch wide
  • 1 yard blue satin ribbon, 1 inch wide
  • 1/2 yard thin pink satin ribbon
  • 6 styrofoam eggs – 1-1/2 or 2 inch
  • Tissue or Organza flowers in pastel colors 1/4 yard
  • 1 inch wide satin ribbon for hanging

Directions:

1.Cover the wreath by arranging eyelet lace in gathers/accordion folds 1 inch wide. A glue gun is very effective, but if you would like to salvage your lace for another use, use wire or needle stitches to fasten the lace.

2. Similarly, glue/stitch blue satin ribbon in gathers in the centre circle formed by the lower end of the lace.

3. Make 8 similar sized bows of thin pink satin ribbon. To do this, first cut the ribbon into 8 pieces of same length and then make bows out of each piece. Cut some extra pieces for the bottom flower.

4. Glue styrofoam eggs decorated with pastel colored paints and glitter over the blue satin ribbon.

5. Glue flowers as shown. For the rose at the bottom, fold 3 pieces of thin pink ribbon (cut into the same length as for the bows) from the center and glue at the back of the rose.

6. Make a loop out of light pink wide satin ribbon and attach the ends to the back of the wreath for hanging.
