Halloween Haunted House Decoration Ideas

Spooky Treats

* Bake cookies in the shape of ghosts, black cats, or pumpkins if you're hosting a Halloween party. For trick or treaters, you can find fun trick bowls to put your candy in. Some of them feature a fake moving hand to spook trick or treaters when they reach for the candy.

* Don't forget the fake body parts! Fill large bowls with grapes coated with cooking oil, cold spaghetti, and of course, homemade slime. Have kids (or adults!) close their eyes and reach into each bowl. As they do, tell them a scary story about what's in the bowl. For example, grapes could be eyeballs, spaghetti could be guts -- you get the creepy idea! To make homemade slime, simply combine 2 cups water and 1/2 cup of cornstarch. To add color, simply use food coloring!

* Another fun treat for your haunted house is the graveyard dessert. Simply use a casserole dish filled with chocolate cookie crumbs moistened a bit with melted butter. This is the dirt. Then, use Milano cookies or any other rectangular shaped cookies as the headstones. Just prop them up in the dirt. If you like, try a food safe marker to write scary messages on them! Add a few gummy worms for effect, and you're done!
