'Pretty in Pink' Low Flower
Arrangement
Pretty shades pf pink from pale carnations to old-fashioned
roses to wine-dark asters make this low flower arrangement deeply
romantic and a welcome change to the usual romantic flower
arrangements in reds. The dense cluster of roses fills the room
with delightful scent. This arrangement, made in a shallow
container is also perfect for a table centerpiece.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1.
Choose a shallow, wide mouthed container for this arrangement. We
have used a clear glass bowl. China, metal or any other material
bowl will also look good.
2. This arrangement requires it's 'frog' to be
made. Attach strips of floral tape across the wide top of the bowl
at 1/2 inch intervals to make a grid which will support all the
flower stems. See picture to the right.
3. About 3/4th of the total flowers are simple,
old-fashioned roses. The rest of the flowers may be any flowers in
shades of pink. Make sure you have flowers in every shade of pink
from pale and hot pinks to wine-colored.
4. Trim the stems of all the flowers. For low
arrangements like this one, the tallest stems should be about twice
as long as the container is deep. Remove all foliage from the stems
which will be seen above the grid.
5.
Fill the bowl with water and start inserting the stems into the
grid. Start with the larger blooms and fill in with the smaller
ones making a dense cluster.
6. To give the arrangement a canopy-like look use
flowers with longer stems at the top center. Cover the rim of the
bowl with blooms. Make sure the tape is not seen from anywhere.
7. A single red candle inserted in the middle of
the arrangement into the grid will create a romantic ambience if
using this arrangement for a dinner table.
Note: This arrangement is circular in shape.
Take care to cover the rim of the container with the blooms and
give the arrangement a raised look at the center by using flowers
with longer stems at the center. If adding a candle to the
arrangement, do it before starting to add the flowers.
