Interesting Ideas for Curtain Tiebacks

Tiebacks don't have to just be made out of tassels, rope or material that is the same as the curtain. Here are some fun ideas to add a little drama to your curtains:

• Use jewelry such as a long strand of beads, a pretty pin, or dangly earrings as a decoration on the tiebacks.

• Tie ribbon in coordinating colors to a thick piece of wire. Let the ribbon hang down in uneven pieces and wrap the wire around the curtain.

• Use garland, a Hawaiian lei or a flower swag as a tieback.

• Use a bandana or other fun printed fabric.

• Braid three different colored ribbon pieces long enough that you can tie it and let the braid hang down.

• Men's ties also work great as a tieback.

• Ornate iron wall candleholders turned sideways and attached to the wall also work well to hold back curtains.
