Backyard Family Activities for Father's Day

This Father's Day, you will not even need to step out of your house to pamper Dad and have fun. You can bring all the fun right into your own backyard! Take a look at these fun family activities that can be done on Father's Day in your own little backyard and choose the one that appeals to you most.

A Backyard Picnic

A Backyard PicnicGet the kids busy making sandwiches and lemonade while you bake your hubby's favorite Picnic Pie or any other favorite picnic snack. Pack a picnic basket and you are ready for a fun picnic in your backyard. Choose from these Picnic Games for Father's Day and throw in some backyard games to make this picnic a truly enjoyable affair. At the end of the picnic, have the kids present their handmade cards and gifts to Dad.

Backyard Barbecue

Father's Day, Kids, Summer, Family Fun - all this spells but one thing - a Backyard Barbecue! Plan an informal fun barbecue session consisting of burgers, grilled veggies etc. At the start of the grilling session, have the kids gift an Apron and a Chef's hat to Dad.

Backyard Splash Party

Backyard Splash PartyA kiddie pool, a garden hose and some water-guns will be enough to start a Backyard Splash party. Make sure everyone is dressed comfortably and keep several towels ready when the water splashing ends.

All this activity is going to make everyone hungry. So have some make-ahead snacks ready to microwave and feed everyone.

Backyard Hawaiian Party

This idea comes from a Beach Party Theme in our Birthday Party Themes section. Take tips from the article on how to turn your backyard into a beach. Have the kids gift Dad a Hawaiian T-Shirt and a sun hat. Everyone wears something with a Hawaiian touch (a garland for example) and you can have fun building sandcastles and eating light seafood snacks.

Backyard Campout

Miniature Backyard Golf GameOn the evening of Father's Day. pack your camping supplies, lock the door (or you will miss the real fun) and head for your backyard. Let kids help Dad in setting up a tent while you light the campfire. Everybody can get involved in the cooking and then you can sing songs and play games around the campfire.

Miniature Backyard Golf Game

This superb idea comes from our sister site Celebrating-FathersDay.com. Kids and Dads can have loads of fun playing Dad's favorite game in a crazy golf course created right inside his own backyard! And once the game is over, you can have a Golfing dessert too. Click on the link for the complete article:
