What You’ll Need For Your Child’s Class Halloween Party

If you are planning on going into your child’s classroom for the yearly Halloween party, there is going to be a lot of preparation. This will go through the different things that you will need on that day. This will include some craft ideas, snack/candy, decorations, the costume you and your child will be wearing amongst other small details that you might not think of before the party is here.

Decorations

Hopefully the teacher has taken care of this, but with the low pay of teachers and low budgets of schools, it might not have. There are a myriad of things that you can do to get the children in the mood for Halloween. Even something as simple as orange and black streamers can set the energy level. Pumpkin stickers are a classic that have been around since I was a child. Possibly even get some faux spider web decorations as everybody in their right mind is afraid of spiders. With these simple and inexpensive decorations, your child’s classroom will be ready for the party that will ensue.

Crafts

When I was in elementary school in a small town, we did pumpkin carving in my classes and inevitably at least one child would cut themselves. Now, pumpkin carving won’t be an option (hopefully) so you’ll have to go toward more traditional crafts. A great option would be to pick up baby pumpkins for the class and have the children paint these in whatever way they wanted. Then as most pumpkins crafting goes, there could be a vote for the best pumpkin and the winner could get some candy or prize of some sort.

Snacks

When providing snacks for a class, you will have to be more careful about the homemade options. Many children might have moderate to severe allergic reactions to certain foods. If you do make something homemade like pumpkin cupcakes, having the Halloween colors is a must. Jack O’ lantern cookies were always a favorite when I was younger. Some snacks are like this article which are interpretations of body parts with everyday ingredients. The examples are banana eyeballs, spooky sandwiches, and a plethora of other creative snacks.

Costumes

Having a great costume is something that is more important to your child than you might think. Many Halloween stores lack the variety of costumes and don’t allow your child to get as creative as they would want to. Last minute shopping for a costume can leave the inventory of stores dried up.Websites like purecostumes.com are great as you can shop for your child’s costume as well as your own. Online, you will have more choices as well as not have to worry about inventory running out.

As you can see, there is quite a lot of prep for planning your child’s class Halloween party. The best thing about this is that most of these things are interchangeable for an adult Halloween party. Just adding some adult beverages would be the only step to take after this and actually carving pumpkins.
