Truth or Dare Valentine’s Day Party Idea

Valentine’s Day is a holiday that is filled with fun and perhaps engage in activities that are a little risqué. And there’s no better way to have fun than to throw a party! But don’t just throw a regular party and “Valentine’s it up” by throwing some red and white hearts on the wall. To throw a truly unique Valentine’s Day party, throw a Truth or Dare party!

Start the theme off right with the right invitations. To make them, simply cut out red hearts with construction paper. Fold them in half so when the guests first see the invite, they will only see half of the heart. On the top of the heart write, “Truth or Dare?” and decorate it with glitter, sequins, and lace. On the inside, use the left hand side to explain the details such as when, where, and what to wear. On the right side, write something such as, “I dare you to come have a blast at my party.”

For decorations, place heart-shaped confetti over all the tables and other surfaces that guests will use to place drinks, etc. Cut out large letters from poster board to spell, “Truth or Dare” and display on the wall somewhere near the entrance so guests will see it as soon as they come in. By all means, put up some red, white and pink hearts on the walls; it just wouldn’t be a Valentine’s Day party without them.

If you’re having a sit-down dinner, you can place vases on the tables as centerpieces and fill them with chocolate roses. If you’re having it at your house and you’re only using one dinner table, place several vases on the table, strategically placed between every third person or so. You can also use fun place cards when having a sit-down meal. Use red construction paper again and write the person’s name on one side. On the other side, write a fun dare such as, “I dare you to sing for your supper.”

Use paper plates that will further the Valentine’s Day theme. It may be hard to find ones that will fit the Truth or Dare theme but you can certainly find Valentine’s Day plates, or at least ones that are red. Even if you’re not have a seated meal, you still want to have plates on hand because you will probably be serving at least appetizers.

And every good party needs at least one activity. And of course for this party, the activity will be playing Truth or Dare. Gather all of the guests into a circle and have someone start. You will probably want to pick yourself if no one volunteers. That person picks someone to ask Truth or Dare to. Anyone who’s ever had a sleepover knows that if you pick truth, you will have to answer a question truthfully and if you pick dare, you have to do the dare. No matter what. It’s a nice idea to have small prizes for the game. Everyone who answers a question truthfully can get something small, such as heart-shaped beads, and anyone who successfully completes a dare should get something a little bigger such as an entire necklace made from the beads.

Send your guests off at the end of the evening with a personalized valentine and be glad to know that you have thrown a great Valentine’s Day party!
