Caramel Pecan Pie

This sweet pie will be a big hit with everyone at Thanksgiving dinner.

Caramel Pecan PieIngredients:

1. egg white
2. ¼ cup butter
3. 1 cup brown sugar
4. ¾ cup flour
5. 1 teaspoon baking powder
6. 1 egg
7. 1 teaspoon vanilla
8. 1 cup pecans
9. 1 vanilla or shortbread cookie crust
10. Whipped cream

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350.
2. Brush the pie crust with the egg white.
3. Crush pecans.
4. Put the pecans on a cookie sheet with sides.
5. Put the crust and the pecans in the oven and bake for 5 minutes.
6. With a mixer blend the melted butter, the brown sugar, the flour and the baking powder.
7. Add the egg and vanilla and mix well. The filling will be extremely thick.
8. Stir in 3/4 cup of the pecans.
9. Spoon the filling into cookie crust.
10. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup pecans on the filling.
11. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until the filling is set in the center.
12. Allow pie to cool completely.
13. Put the whipped cream on top.
