Alcohol consumption plays a large role in St. Patrick’s Day. No one quite knows why, but perhaps it is because Ireland has such fine selections of beers, liqueurs, and whiskeys. If you’re throwing a St. Patrick’s Day party this year, you’re definitely going to want to have some tasty drinks on hand. Below are some delicious cocktail recipes that are perfect for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day!
Irish JigglersReally, they’re Jell-O shots but they are perfect to be placed on a tray and passed around at a party. This is all you have to do: 1. Gather one package of lime Jell-O, ten ounces of Citrus vodka, four ounces of Blue Curacao, and two ounces of lime juice. 2. Bring two cups of water to a boil and dissolve Jell-O in it. Allow to cool to room temperature. 3. Add the alcohol to the Jell-O and stir well. Pour into Jell-O shot cups and refrigerate for two to three hours. Everybody’s IrishFor a great cocktail that not only celebrates Irish whiskey but also reminds us that on St. Paddy’s day, everyone’s Irish, this is sure to be a true winner!
• 2 ounces Irish whiskey
1. Place all of the ingredients, except for the mint sprig, in a
cocktail shaker with ice. Nutty IrishmanFor this great-tasting shooter, simply mix ½ shot of Bailey’s with ½ shot of Frangelico. If shooters aren’t your thing, you can also pour equal parts of the two liqueurs into a glass over ice. Irish EyesThis is a great cocktail that can be brought out to the party just as the song “When Irish Eyes are Smiling” starts to play. But even if you don’t have the song to introduce the drink, this is a great drink that will have your friends asking for the recipe.
• 1 ounce Irish whiskey
1. Place all of the ingredients, except for the cherry, into a
cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake well. Irish PrideThis is a wonderful drink for those that wish to have something a little lighter than the traditional Irish whiskey.
• 3 ounces green crème de menthe Irish WhipThis fun cocktail actually does not have any Irish whiskey or liqueurs in it. The alcohol that is in it however, makes for a delicious combination and the crème de menthe gives it a nice green colour making it a nice option for those who don’t like the taste of green beer.
• 1 ounce vodka
1. Pour the alcohol ingredients into a beer glass with ice cubes.
