Party Games for Infants and Moms

If you’re hosting a get-together such as a first birthday celebration, you need some fun activities to keep your youngest guests (and their moms) busy and entertained. It’s best to choose simple games and activities, especially for infants. Check out our suggestions for party games for infants and moms!

Introduction Game

This game starts when the hostess gives her name and one detail about herself. This detail could be anything, like a middle name or favorite color. The next person has to say her own name and detail, then repeat the one of the person who came before. The third person says her name and detail, and the ones of the last players. The more people you have playing, the funnier things get! This is a good way to break the ice and get the party rolling!

Guess How Many?

This is a fun game where a jar is filled with Cheerios or small candies. Guests take turns guessing how many there are in the jar. Of course, the closest guess wins a prize. You’ll of course need to count the items before placing them in the jar and know the answer!

Baby’s Time Capsule

Fill an empty coffee can with mementos from your baby’s first birthday party, and encourage guests to write notes to the baby and place them in the “time capsule.” Bury the capsule or hide it somewhere no one will get into it. When your child celebrates an older birthday, he or she will love looking through the time capsule from their first birthday!

Exercise Time

Set up an area filled with toys and a baby gym. Let your youngest guests have a blast exploring, climbing, and playing while the moms socialize and relax.

Baby Portrait

Give all your guests some artistic materials like paper, pencils, pens, crayons and markers. Place the baby of honor where all guests can see him or her, then ask them to draw her portrait. Set a time limit that’s challenging, like 30 or 60 seconds. After everyone is finished, create a collage using the portraits.

Bottle Bowling

For this game you need some baby bottles and a small or medium sized ball. Fill the bottom of the bottles with rice or sand to help them stand upright. Then take turns bowling! The guest that knocks down the most bottles wins a prize!
