Jungle Party Theme – Kids Birthday Party Themes

Invitation Idea

Cut leaf shapes out of green paper. Cut a tree trunk out of brown paper. Glue some of the leaves to the top of the trunk. On one leaf write the information for the party. Punch a hole in the leaf and another separate leaf. Use a brad to attach the second leaf over the top of the leaf with the information on it. Now you should be able to slide the top leaf to the side to see the information for the party.

Decoration Ideas

Use ivy and other foliage. Attach it to the walls. You can also get jungle print fabric and cover a couple of the walls in the party area with it. Hang green streamers from the ceiling. Place stuffed toy jungle animals throughout the area. You can make large palm trees out of large pieces of butcher paper and hang them on the wall as well.

Craft Ideas

Decorate Binoculars

Before the party glue together two toilet paper rolls so that they make binoculars. Spray paint them gray. During the party provide the kids with stickers, markers and other fun items such as rhinestones to decorate their own binoculars.

Create a Jungle Theme

On a wall hang a large piece of butcher paper for each child. Give each kid markers and crayons and let them draw in palm trees, animals, rivers and lakes. Then take a picture of each child in front of their jungle.

Game Ideas

Safari Hunt

Hide stuffed animals in the backyard or party area. Have the kids use the binoculars they decorated to find them. For really young kids you could also make paw prints out of paper and put them on the ground. Then have the kids follow the prints to treasure (candy, or other small items).

Fishing in the Jungle

Fill a small wading pool with water. Get plastic fish and ducks write numbers on them with a permanent marker. Attach a small magnet to each one using a hot glue gun. Make a fishing pole out of a long dowel rod and string. Attach a magnet to the end of the string. Let each kid take a turn fishing. The number on the fish they catch corresponds to a prize they get. Good ideas for prizes are candy, pencils, erasers shaped like animals, packages of stickers and so on.

Food Ideas

Use animal shaped cookie cutters to cut sandwiches. Offer plenty of bugs (gummy worms, spiders and other gummy bugs), animal crackers are also a fun idea. Get small plastic bugs and wash them thoroughly put them in with the punch for bug juice. Decorate a cake with small plastic jungle animals or make a cake to look like the birthday kids favorite animal such as a monkey or elephant.
