Taking Care of the Details

Once the menu is planned, you will need to shop around for some essentials. Buy all the ingredients well ahead of time leaving ice-cream for just the day before when you will be making all the desserts. Prepare all desserts one day in advance and keep toppings, fruits and glazes ready for the day of the party. You will need to be ready for at least two dessert plates for one person if the need arises. If you find it a hassle to bring out china or glass plates, use plastic party plates in subtle colors. Bold colors and prints will take away the beauty of your desserts. Keep tall glasses ready for the shakes and smoothies.

Setting up a buffet table is an easier option but it is also not impossible to host a sit-down party. Keep lots of dry ice at hand to keep your desserts frozen during the party. Keep some spare ice-cream, sprinkles, cones and sundae glasses at hand to feed any kids who don’t take a fancy to the desserts.

Host a Potluck Party

Make your Ice-Cream Dessert Party more fun by turning it into a potluck party. It is a great idea for a group of friends or relatives with similar interests. Decide beforehand what each one will bring so nothing gets duplicated. The host will take care of the plates, glasses, cutlery etc. and lay out all the desserts on proper tables. Every dessert needs to be accompanied by a recipe for making it which will turn the party into a recipe-exchange party which always adds to the fun.
