Learn About a Country Reunion

Most people, especially in the United States, have ancestors that came from other countries. One fun way to celebrate your heritage is to have a family reunion based on that country.

Decorations

Use pictures of the country or traditional decorations from the country as decorations. You can also use the colors of the flag of the country to decorate. Let your imagination go and decorate using anything that relates to the country. Pictures of the flag, national bird, animal or flower etc. will also educate everyone further about the chosen country.

Food

Look up recipes of traditional foods from the country and ask different family members to bring different items. Have a potluck and enjoy the food. Find the countries national anthem or maybe even traditional music and play it in the background while people are eating.

Activities

If you or another family member knows the story behind your ancestors immigrating to the U.S. have tell the story to everyone. Find out what games are traditionally played and play them with the family. If there is an easy craft that is traditionally done in your country of origin; that would also make a fun activity.
