Creative Easter Celebrations For “Kids” Ages 1-99
After You Eat The Chocolate Bunny…

Here are some unique ideas to make your Easter party sparkle! Have fun with these and be creative…there are no rules when it comes to party games and decorations.

Games:

“Who Are You?”: At the front door, each guest receives a plastic egg with a “secret message” inside. They are a person, place, or thing associated with Easter. The person who figures out everyone else’s “secret identity” first wins a prize!

“Egg Race”: This is a classic but always fun. Have an egg relay in the yard. Rules: You must keep the egg in the spoon, and if it falls out, you have to go back and try again. The team that transports their egg to the end of the course the fastest wins.

“Bunny Talk”: This is very silly but fun. Select two competitors to represent their teams. The competitors must say, “I am a chubby bunny.” Each time they are finished saying the phrase, the competitor must place a full-size marshmallow in his or her mouth before saying the phrase again. The person who can say the phrase with the most marshmallows wins!

“Guess the Easter Eggs”: Fill a big plastic egg with jelly beans or malted milk eggs. Contestants must guess the number (which you have already counted ahead of time) in order to win the egg.

“Easter Egg Decorating Contest”: No dye here! Contestants will use hot glue, sequins, glitter, and other materials to make the most interesting eggs possible. The eggs should all have a “face” drawn on them for the funniest effect.

Wacky Place Setting Ideas:

• Make place card holders with marshmallow chicks! Use a paring knife to make a small slit across the back of the “neck” and insert the place cards. Your guests will be surprised and amused, and then they will eat the place card holders…

• Use your computer to print out each person’s name in a cool font. Cut out the paper and tie around a pretty dyed Easter egg.

• Use crème eggs to make a candle wreath in the middle of the table. This would go along well with the marshmallow chick theme.

• For an inexpensive table decoration, use a pink or purple plastic tablecloth and scatter green “Easter basket grass” around the table. Total Easter nostalgia!

You see, the only limit for creative party ideas is your own imagination! Don’t be afraid to be childlike—the worst kind of party can be a “fancy” one where everyone is trying to be on their best behavior. Let yourself experience the Easter celebration like you did as a kid: grinning and covered in pastel sugar.
