Savory Apple Starter
Serves 4
Ingredients:
4 green-skinned apples
2 stick celery, shredded
8 walnut halves
Dressing:
2 tablesp soured cream
lemon juice to taste
a little caster sugar
freshly ground black pepper
garlic salt to taste (optional)
Directions:
1. Mix together dressing ingredients and set aside.
2. Wipe apples, cut off tops, scoop out flesh leaving shell.
Remove, discard core and seeds. Chop flesh, mix with celery; crush
and add 4 walnuts.
3. Mix into dressing and fill apple shells. Top each with walnut
half.
To serve: accompany with cheese biscuits or
oatcakes.
