Lighten Up Your Meals

What you ate for breakfast or lunch could answer a lot of your weight loss questions. While we are not putting you through a test right now (we trust you know where exactly you stand), here are valuable tips on 'lightening up' your everyday meals.

A Healthy Breakfast

Switch from: Bacon and Eggs - and a Large Muffin

to: a bowl of whole grain cereal with fruits (e.g. muesli)

or at least: pancakes, toast or bagel with cream cheese

A Healthy Mid-morning Snack

Switch from: Doughnuts and Croissants

to: an apple, orange or another fruit

or at least: a low fat muffin

A Healthy Lunch

Switch from: ham and cheese sandwich and french fries or potato chips

to: turkey or chicken breast sandwich (without the mayo) and fruit (or mixed vegetables) salad

or at least: roast beef sandwich with mayo and pasta salad or coleslaw

A Healthy Mid-afternoon Snack

Switch from: Candies, Cookies and Chips

to: an apple, orange or another fruit

or at least: Crackers with cheese or peanut butter

A Healthy Dinner

Switch from: Pot Roast, Fried Chicken or Sausage + French Fries

to: Fish, Beans or Vegetables + Green Beans or Carrots or Tomatoes or Corn

or at least: Chicken or Turkey Breasts, or lean cuts of pork of beef + Green Salad

A Healthy Dessert

Switch from: ice-cream, cake or pie

to: berries or other fresh fruits

or at least: fruit sorbet or frozen yogurt
