2. Shinji
Small and perfectly formed, Shinji’s 8 seats are some of the most popular in town. The assorted dishes and set menus are lovingly crated by well-known sushi master, Joshi-san. If you consider yourself to be somewhat of a sushi expert, well, this is a place for you. Whether you want to critique their sushi art, or you’re just a foodie who enjoys some high-quality sushi, Shinji is definitely a must-visit.

3. Tatsuya
One of the priciest sushi joints in the Lion City, Tatsuya is a true indulgence. Located near the mighty Marina Bay Sands Hotel, their sushi and service are also said to be “incomparable”, but you’ll need to be swift if you want a table. They do take bookings via email, or you can call the hotel and try your luck. It’s always nice to reward yourself with some high-quality food, but it comes with a price. This is what makes Tatsuya a perfect celebratory location.

4. Aoki
Perfect for an affordable but lavish lunch, or important meeting, Aoki has plenty of space to spread out, relax and enjoy quality sushi. Prices aren’t too bad, starting at around $30 including a delicious selection of appetizers, salads and soups. And don’t miss out on their delicious caramel ice-cream with mocha and sake jelly. Perfect!

5. Shiraishi
Shiraishi was originally set up to feed the local Japanese expats, so authenticity is key here. $40 will get you a set menu of fresh sushi, rolls, soup and dessert. But they’re best-known for what is considered to be Sinagpore’s chopped toro on rice. It’s difficult to choose only one dish to try, but that doesn’t mean you can’t come more than once!

6. Koh Grill & Sushi Bar
Offering some of the best prices in Singapore, Koh Gill & Sushi Bar is a bit of a secret sushi haunt. Try the Shiok Maki, which is an real deal at only $15 – it’s a beautiful combination of harcoal grilled eel wrapped and salmon maki. But don’t go telling everyone about it!
