Picnic Basket Liner

Take this colorful basket liner along when going for picnics or entertaining outdoors. Or use as a table cloth for small tables.

Materials Needed:

2 pieces of white cotton/calico fabric - 21x21 inches
Scraps of solid colored fabric cut into 3" squares
summer motif appliqués or machine embroidery equipment

Directions:

1. Join the square pieces alternating the colors, to the length of the white cloth.

2. Then join on the other side to form an 'L'.

3. Stitch on to the white fabric all around - turning in the edges on the inner side.

4. Fold the table cloth and sew a hem on all four sides.

5. Embroider summer motifs with machine or hand or sew on an appliqué. We have machine embroidered a spiral sun and two dragonflies.
