Mini Flower Hanger
Bring
the beauty of spring indoors with this simple and fun project. You
can also use these as 'May Day Baskets'!
What you will need:
1. Pretty sheet of 8 ½ x 11 paper
2. White lace like ribbon
3. Glue dots (can be found at any store that carries scrapbook
items)
4. Dried, silk or cut fresh flowers in colors that match the paper
5. Ribbon 12 inches long that matches one of the colors in the
flowers
6. Paper cutter
7. Scissors
8. Wire cutters (if using silk flowers)
9. Hole Punch
10. Paper clip
Directions:
1. Cut the 8 ½ x 11 paper into a rectangle 6 inches by 9 inches.
2. Roll the paper so that it forms a cone shape.
3. Use the paper clip to slide over one end of the paper to hold
it in place.
4. Put glue dots where needed to secure the cone.
5. With the hole punch put a hole in the top back of the cone.
This will be used to string the ribbon through so that the
arrangement can hang.
6. Cut some of the white ribbon long enough that it will wrap
around the top edge of the cone.
7. Use glue dots to attach the ribbon to the paper around the top
of the cone.
8. Cut another piece of white ribbon long enough to go around the
bottom edge of the cone.
9. Use glue dots to attach the ribbon to the bottom edge of the
cone.
10. With the 12 inch string, loop it over and tie a large knot in
the end.
11. Pull the ribbon through the hole in the back of the cone, so
that the knot is on the inside where it will not be seen.
12. Arrange the flowers in the cone. If any ends need to be cut
use the scissors or wire cutter to trim them.
These easy and pretty accents are perfect on doorknobs, hooks or
as a decoration on the front door. They also work well as curtain
tiebacks. To do this put two holes in the back of the cone and
string the ribbon through without tying any knots in it. You
should have two pieces of ribbon that you can use to tie around
the curtain.
