Selling on eBay - How to find your niche
Lately, my friends have been discussing ways to save money and
build up retirement accounts or pay off bills. Some have chosen to
sell goods on Ebay which can be a great way to earn extra money.
Whether you want to save or pay bills, you, too, can learn how to
make a profit on Ebay just by trying these simple ideas.
The first thing you need is something to sell. This is where it
can get fun! Take a morning and weed out your spare bedroom, garage,
or basement. Look through closets, under beds, and in cabinets or
drawers. The first rule to remember is that your junk could be
someone else’s treasure, so don’t overlook anything with the
attitude that no one will want it. Some of the hotter markets are in
vintage cameras, old computers, hi-fi equipment and computer
software.
When possible, it’s best to sell in bulk. For instance, if you
are at a garage sale and have opportunity to purchase a box of video
tapes or CDs or clothing for a reasonably cheap price, do so and
then resell it in bulk on Ebay. You’ll make more money than breaking
them down one by one. Collectibles sell well on Ebay. Rare books,
antiques and art do well too.
Once you figure out what you are going to sell, you want run a
search on Ebay of the similar merchandise and compare prices and
condition. This will give you a ballpark figure of how to price your
item. Of course, you’ll have to adjust the price according to the
unique traits or quality of the product. Your next step should be
spending a fair amount of time becoming familiar with the Ebay
website. They offer very informative pages that will guide you
through their selling and buying service. It’s certainly worth
taking the time out to do this. You’ll increase your sales potential
and be ready for your next step which will be posting your item on
the site for sale. Whether you make a little pocket change or a
living from your sales, selling on Ebay is a great way to pad your
wallet.
