" An Interview With Stephany
Harper "
Publisher of http://sunnydays4ever.com
I wanted to start up my own ezine; but had so many questions about the
involvement it would take. So I thought who better to
ask then someone who tried it and made it work for herself. Stephany was
kind enough to allow me to do this interview with
her and I Thank her for it.
1) Is publishing a newsletter really worth it all?
(mentally and physically)
Newsletter publishing is one of the most fulfilling
projects I have ever taken on. I started publishing because I needed a
challenge. I look forward to each new obstacle.
2) How much time a day is involved?
Most days I spend eight hours at the computer. Working
at home my time is split up during the day. I do most of my work at
night when all is quiet. The problem with that is telling myself to get
off the computer. There is always something that needs to be done.
3) What is the Best Part?
The best part of Newsletter publishing is getting to
know the readers. I enjoy the interaction with people who have different
views and different ways of life. I am not bound by geography. I have
friends from all over the world. That is the best part.
4) What is the Worst Part?
The worst part used to be getting a unsubscribe
request from a reader. I have learned over the last couple of years that
rejection comes with the territory. Not everyone is going to appreciate
all the time spent and the hard work that goes into each publication.
Now that I have gotten used to unsubscribes. The worst
part for me is falling off schedule. No matter how hard a publisher
works to stay on schedule, life has a tendency to get in the way at
times.
5) Are there days You just want to Say "Heck
With It All"?
Of course, there are days when I wake up and look
loathingly at the computer and ask myself what are you doing this for?
Thank goodness those feelings do not last for long. Those are the days
when I jump in the car and go.
Most days I wake up excited to see what has appeared
in my
mailbox over night.
6) How long does it take to get Where You Are?
(Well Known)
I think becoming well known is something that a
publisher is constantly striving for. It is an ongoing process.
7) Is it a must to learn html?
If you are working with a limited budget I think
learning the basics of HTML is a must. There are many sites out there
with wonderful tips and tutorials.
