Simple Remedies for Blemished Skin
Blemishes seem to always develop on days that you want to look
perfect. Fortunately there are a few very simple remedies that you
can use to get rid of blemished fast. Or at least, minimize their
appearance.
Blemish Remedy Number 1 –
Toothpaste
One of the oldest blemish remedies is toothpaste. When you feel
a blemish developing dab a little toothpaste on the area and allow
it to stay there overnight. The next morning wash off the
toothpaste and hopefully the blemish will be gone. It is the
alcohol in the toothpaste that dries out the blemish. However,
people who have sensitive may want to avoid this remedy as it can
leave a red mark on the skin and cause a burning sensation.
Blemish Remedy Number 2 –
Acne Gels
If you go to a department store or grocery store you will find
dozens of products for treating acne. Some are washes, others are
scrubs, and others are gels. Acne gels are generally used for spot
treatments. The best gels will have an anti-bacterial agent as
well as natural ingredients to sooth the skin and balance its pH
level.
Blemish Remedy Number 3 –
Cover It
If you develop a blemish right before a special event and you
don’t have time to treat it and wait for it to go away, then you
can always conceal it. If the blemish is minor then your
foundation is probably going to be enough to cover it up, however,
if your blemish has erupted then you will probably need to use a
cover-up product.
Blemish Remedy Number 4 –
Salicylic Acid
If you want a serious treatment that has proven results then
you need to use Salicylic acid. This compound is oil-soluble and
lipophilic which means that it is capable of penetrating even your
deeper layers of skin to treat the root cause of acne. This is a
natural product that can be found in homeopathic stores and in
some department stores.
Blemish Remedy Number 5 –
Aspirin
If you need a quick blemish remedy then go to your medicine
cabinet and take out the aspirin. Crush up the aspirin and mix it
with a little bit of water to create a paste. Dab the aspirin
paste on your blemish and allow it to sit for 15 minutes to a half
hour. Then wash it off. This should dry up the blemish and reduce
the redness.
Conclusion
While there are a lot of blemish remedies that you can either
make at home or buy in the store not everyone responds to every
remedy. You really need to try out several remedies to see which
ones work for you and which ones don’t. If you have sensitive
skin, then you will find that a lot of acne treatments will leave
your skin red and sore. Because of this you will have to try out a
lot more products before you find one that you like. If you still
can’t find something that works for you, then you may need to go
to a dermatologist for a prescription treatment.
