Predictions for Winter Fashion 2014

Although it feels as if summer has only just turned up, it won’t be long before winter’s here. The dark nights have already started, and it seems ever so slightly cooler. Perhaps it’s my imagination, but I think we’ve had the best of summer already! With cool weather in mind, I have some predictions for the winter fashion that will be popular this year. Take a look so you can stay one step ahead:

Predictions for Winter Fashion 2014

Geometric Shapes

Geometric shapes look really cool, and add an interesting twist to any look. You should be able to find plenty of evening/party dresses following the geometric pattern trend by winter. It was a huge hit with everybody on the catwalk, so keep this in mind when you spot a funny shaped item of clothing – don’t walk past, try it on!

Swinging 60s

The 60s are back! Many of the fashions this winter will be a nod to the 60s mod era, and even the later Britpop era (which was a nod to the 60s in itself). If you love 60s fashion like me, I know you’re going to be very excited about this! Big hair, bold makeup, and lots of pattern should be used generously this winter.

Matching Layers

Matching sets have been a huge trend in summer. I haven’t been able to turn my head without spotting somebody wearing a matching two piece. Well, this trend is set to continue into winter with matching layers. Matching skirts, tops, and even blazers will be all over the shops. Try it – if you’re brave enough!

The Statement Coat

You can’t face winter without a statement coat to wear. Some models on the catwalk were spotted wearing floor length textured numbers, but you don’t have to go this far if you don’t want to. A simple leopard print coat or fluffy jacket will work just as well.

Royal Blue

Royal blue is another colour that has been embraced in recent months, but it will EXPLODE come winter time. The great thing about this shade is that it’s flattering on the majority of skin tones, whether you’re a tanned Latina like J.Lo or a pasty catwalk model. Royal blue is the colour to be seen in! It isn’t dull either, like a lot of winter colours can be. Take a look at sites like http://www.tuchuzy.com for high quality clothing in this colour.

Ruby Red, Emerald Green, Midnight Blue

These three colours are the darker colours representing winter this year. Weather you wear them on your back, on your lips, or on your nails, you can’t go wrong with a splash of ruby red, emerald green, or midnight blue. Why not go for a shade with a shimmer to make it look even more glamorous?

Now you can be fully prepared when the dark nights come back in full force. I know I’ll be embracing the 60s trend for sure, and I’ll buy myself a statement coat as soon as they come in. What will you buy? Leave a comment!
