Heat and Humidity Defying Makeup Tricks for Summer

Making your makeup look fresh all day long in heat and humidity is not always easy to do. However, there are several simple tricks that you can use to manage the drippy effects of heat and moisture on your makeup.

1. Be Prepared for Touch Ups

No matter what type of makeup you use, it is going to need several touch ups throughout the day, especially on days that are hot and humid. Create a touch up kit to take with you. Pack makeup that isn’t going to melt. For example you don’t want to bring waxed based eyeliners or lipsticks. Instead pack an eye shadow in the same color as your eyeliner, and pack a lip gloss instead of a lipstick.

2. Use Oil Absorbing Pads

Another great tool to use when you live in a hot and humid climate is the oil absorbing pad. These pads allow you to soak up extra oil that accumulates on your face throughout the day. By removing this extra oil you will be able to extend the life of your makeup, and keep yourself looking fresher.

3. Use Oil Free Moisturizer with and SPF

When it is hot and humid your skin generates more oil. Because of this your makeup is going to slide around on your face. You can reduce the slipperiness of your face by switching from a greasy moisturizer to an oil-free lotion with an SPF.

4. Seal Your Makeup with a Powder

To counteract the effects of extra oil on your skin and extra heat and moisture in the air seal your makeup with a powder foundation. Or, of you want an overall lighter feel to your makeup only use the powder foundation instead of a liquid foundation. There are several companies that manufacture powder based foundations, eye shadows, and blushers.

5. Use Extra Waxy Products

If you want your eye line and shadow to last longer try using a waxy eye-shadow primer. This will help protect your makeup from absorbing the oil from your skin, which will allow it to stay where you put it. To remove the primer you will need to use a makeup remover.

The lip color formulas used in these lipsticks keep the wax from melting, which keeps your lip color on your lips.
