Idris Elba for Superdry – The Perfect Gift Idea for Men

This year, the chill in the air has been the harbinger of new beginnings in my family. We are seeing a major fitness revolution starting with the Dot Com Man himself! And looking at the way he has inspired the kids to join in – be it biking with the little miss or dragging the little mister along, at a marathon – I wanted to thank him in a special way. I think Idris Elba’s newly launched capsule collection of menswear for Superdry will make the perfect Christmas gift.

Super Collaboration

Superdry, which is already a favorite brand with men, has collaborated with none other than Idris Elba (watch out for him in Star Trek Beyond – he plays the bad guy!) for their premium Autumn Winter collection. And with this, as GQ puts it rightly, they have put the ‘Luxe’ in Luxe Sports. With the IE logo collection, Elba expresses his personal style and love for fashion through a brand he himself admires. 

The Idris Elba Collection – Trendy Streetwear

The 250 piece collection is very urban and chic. The cashmere and cotton blend hoodies, sports blazers, bomber style jackets, IE logo jackets and comfortable classic denim jeans are all very modern. While I am almost certain I am going in for the IE logo hoodie in gray, the other shades look tempting too. Check out all hoodies on the Superdry website. The use of deep colors like navy, graphite gray and jet black gives them a very sophisticated look.

What I Like

What Elba modestly terms as “pretty plain stuff” is exactly what most men prefer. Mine certainly does. The clothes have a lot of personality, are no-nonsense and build to last, which is not surprising considering the British brand is famous for their sportswear. Every piece in the collection can work from day to night and are decidedly high on the coolness quotient.
