Dressing Your Man When He Doesn’t Have a Clue

It might be a bit of a stereotype to say that all men are fashion-phobes, but there’s probably also some truth in the fact that you have ideas about how he should dress that he just doesn’t understand.  So with that in mind, it’s time to take things into your own fashion-savvy hands.  If he’s not particularly interested in fashion, it might be sensible to start by buying him innocuous, subtly stylish clothes, and eventually, you’ll have your very own self-styled man.  Here are three ways you can dress your man when he’s oblivious to the latest trends.

Dressing Your Man When He Doesn't Have a Clue

This Autumn is about Stylish Denim

To be frank, denim never goes out of fashion, particularly in autumn.  This autumn, however, denim will be more on-trend than ever before.  New York Fashion Week has just passed and one of the prevailing trends has been to layer dark materials on top of one another.  This creates a nice range of contrasting materials and textures if done correctly.

If you dress your man in a nice pair of stylish blue jeans such as the ones you can find at Oi Polloi, you’ll be able to start layering his top half.  This will result in creating a stylish, on-trend autumnal look.

Could You Style Him Subtly?

One way you can add a little bit more style to your man’s look without him really noticing is by ‘styling-round-the-edges’.  This basically means accessorising him in a way which will make him stylish without him really noticing.

This autumn, one of the most prevalent trends is the pocket square.  When your man is going to work, slip a trendy pocket square into his pocket to ensure he’s looking sharp.  Another little trend this season is to go pattern-crazy.  So you could combine the two by adding a patterned pocket square to his look to make him really fashionable in this period of transition.

Let Him Pick His Own Shoes…

…From a shop of your choosing. This is an intelligent way of styling your man without you having to go through all the effort of going round the isles with him.  If you choose a fashionable store with a specific style of shoe – such as these brogues which are currently popular– you shouldn’t have a problem getting your man to choose a shoe that works for you.

With these three tips at your disposal, you should be able to now go out and style your man with confidence even if he’s a fashion-phobe.
